I normally lean towards Blues/Rock music, but i also like some classical-type music....and i have to say....I LOVE this CD!!...VERY powerful music, with wonderful orchestration. I only bought it a week ago, and I've probably listened to it 10 times already.....
I particularly like "Seas", "Sun" and "Stars"....but, they are ALL great songs....

These piano melodies are just waiting for the perfect movie to fit into! My favorite is Moon.
Maribeth Alexander is an accomplished pianist and composer. Some of her songs have been put in music catalogs for film and used in various ways for an enjoyable listening experience.
Maribeth began studying piano at the age of 8 through high school from Virginia Sheffield Holtzendorff, who studied at the St. Louis Institute of Music under Gottfried Galston (the "in-residence" artist teacher at the time Ms. Holtzendorff was there studying).
Upon graduating from high school, Maribeth also attended the St. Louis Institute of Music (for college prep courses) before attending the University of Central Arkansas in the fall of 1970. She received both a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music Education degree from that institution, with a major in piano.
Playing the piano was her passion, but it wasn't until around 2000 that she began composing her own music--music which combines some of the styles of the classical composers with more "new age" sounds.
Maribeth's first album, "Creation: A Musical Tapestry" was released in the summer of 2010--10 songs "musically describing" the first four days of creation as recorded in Genesis 1. The reviews of this CD were very positive, with most commenting that the songs sounded like "movie music".
"Love Themes", her second album, was released in the fall of 2011--also 10 songs of the attributes of the emotion, "love". These songs have been described as "peaceful", "restful", and "calming".
Maribeth is currently working on songs for more albums.
Maribeth Alexander's music is peaceful and calming to the soul--music that truly "touches the heart of the listener".
"His Star" is a Christmas album with songs that tell the story of the birth of Jesus in Matthew 2 and Luke 2 in the Bible. Of the ten songs, six are piano with orchestrations and four are piano only. The songs include "Joy to the World", "Away in the Manger", "His Star", "Silent Night", "Angels We Have Heard on High", "The First Noel", "Winter's Eve", "What Child is This", and "Great Joy". Six of the songs are beloved Christmas hymns, and the remaining four are original songs.
"Creation: A Musical Tapestry" is a collection of 10 songs--piano and orchestration. The songs depict the first four days of the creation story in Genesis 1. Included are "Heaven", "Earth", "Seas", "Trees", "Green Pastures", "Still Waters", and more.
"Love Themes" is a collection also of ten songs which depict some of the attributes of the emotion of love. Six are orchestrated and four are piano only. Some of the titles include: "Love", "Kiss", "Forgiveness", "Embrace", "Compassion", Hope" and more.
The "Mary's Song" album are downloads only. There are six songs on the album which musically depict the emotions Mary Magdalene felt in the days leading up to the crucification of Jesus Christ. "For Whom My Soul Loveth" and "Reflections in Time" are two of my favorites.
"A New Day", my latest album, which was released in July, 2019. The songs parallel the events of life--from "Winds of Change", "The Storm", to "Dancing in the Moonlight" and "Sounds of Joy". All were written for piano and are orchestra.
My first single, "Wings of the Morning", sounds like the birds that fly in the early morning hours. As dawn is breaking, you musically hear the fluttering of the wings of the birds of the air and their melodic songs they sing. This song is piano only.
Life is a journey that we all take. On this journey are storms that steal our joy. But ultimately the sun does come out with the promise of joy. Seek joy in the moments of every day.
